Leadership Team Expectations & Applications
Each member of the Wildcat Catholic Leadership Team (WC LT) commits to embrace and live the mission and core values of the Wildcat Catholic Community.
There are five leadership roles available within the WC LT: Service, Liturgy, Hospitality, Community, & Communications
Each person will meet monthly with campus minister to ensure team member is thriving in their position.
Team members will serve from June 2024-May 2025
Mission of Wildcat Catholic
Helping Wayne State College students deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and become dynamic leaders in the Catholic Church.
Core values of Wildcat Catholic
1. Acts 2:42
“They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers.”
Teaching of the Apostles: WC LT members must love and be dedicated to the Church’s teachings that are given to us in Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the Magisterium.
Communal Life: WC LT members should invest in their peers by being present to them and accompanying them on and off campus.
Breaking of the Bread: WC LT members should attend Mass regularly at St. Mary’s and strive to maintain proximity to all the Sacraments the Church offers.
Prayer: WC LT members commit to personal prayer for 30 minutes each day.
2. Chastity, Sobriety, Excellence
WSC LT members are called to answer the high call of mission and should lead with moral authority among their peers by living lives of chastity, sobriety, and excellence. Doing so will lead to integrity of a life worth exemplifying.

3. Evangelization and Hospitality
Matthew 28: 19-20 “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”
Jesus gives the great commission to his disciples and subsequently all his followers to go to the ends of the earth, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Therefore, WC LT members should daily embrace their personal call to evangelizing through accompaniment and authentic friendship that leads to conversion.
Hospitality: A culture of hospitality (as opposed to isolated acts of hospitality) demands a posture of receptivity to the other at all times. This posture necessitates being welcoming to guests, going out of one’s way to talk to someone who is alone, and always being available to serve the needs of another.
Purpose of Wildcat Catholic LT
1. Provide direction and ensure the needs of the Wildcat Catholic Community are being met.
Previously the Newman Council has served in this capacity. Given the importance of leadership among our students, we see the WC LT being a more intentional and productive way to live out this role.
2. Develop and implement opportunities to live our mission
In collaboration with WC core team, WC LT members will meet regularly to move the mission of the Wildcat Catholic community forward in these particular areas.
3. Seek out emerging leaders
WC LT members will invite their peers to join in accomplishing the goals set forth by the WC LT.
Practical commitments
1. Commit to Core Values.
2. Attend Student Leader Training (date TBD, summer 2024).
3. Meet monthly with the campus minister.
4. Attend biweekly WC LT meetings.
5. Invest in the Wildcat Catholic community through common worship and social opportunities.
6. Attend one retreat a semester that is offered through Wildcat Catholic.

Upon completion of the application, you will be contacted to have a brief interview with Fr. Capadano, the Campus Minister, and a Focus Missionary in attendance.
